Product Description This carriage-style outside wall lamp offers great looks, plus the convenience of a built-in motion detector and dusk-to-dawn sensor. A handy security feature around garages and patios, the motion sensor has a 180 degree, 30 foot range. The design also comes with the Dual Brite two-level lighting feature, which brightens the light output from the light when motion is detected. It comes in an antique bronze finish with panels of beveled glass. Takes one 100 watt bulb (not included). 14 3/4" high and 6 3/4" wide, extends 8 1/2" from the wall.
Amazon.com Product Description Motion-activated lights are convenient and energy efficient, but they can be a little bulky and awkward to look at-in the driveway is fine, but you wouldn't want to put one on your porch. Unless it's one of Heath Zenith's porch lights, that is. These products give you the best of both worlds, combining motion-activation and traditional lantern design. The SL-4144 is a four-sided New-England style lantern that includes a hidden motion-sensing device. This device will detect movement in a 150-degree radius up to a distance of 30 feet. You can set the light timer to one, five, or ten minutes, and the sensor itself may be adjusted to give you more or less sensitivity (so it doesn't light up every time a car drives by). The weather-resistant antique bronze finish means it's going to look good for a while, too. This model also features "Dual Brite" lighting, which means you can use it for low-level accent lighting in addition to the full-light effect you get with motion-activation. An included timer allows you to set low-light mode for three hours, six hours, or dusk to dawn (an automatic photocell deactivates the unit in daylight). If you're looking to save a little money on outdoor lighting by installing a motion-detector, this is a great option that won't look out of place. Requires one medium-base bulb of up to 100 watts (not included).--Josh Dettweiler What's in the Box Lamp housing, motion detector

Elmo's Mom December 8, 2009 Elmo's Mom (Bronx, New York United States) After reading the reviews, purchased two of these lanterns and couldn't be happier. I have actually had them a number of months now and they look as good as the day I received them. Despite never-ending rain throughout the summer, they have yet to show any signs of wear or erosion. They are extremely attractive and appear to be easy to install. They have worked without an issue since installation and I am extremely grateful I installed them, since the lights on my street appear to have diminished in strength.
Color Not Quite Antique Bronze December 5, 2009 Ryan J. Smith (Woodland Park, CO) Functionally, this light is great. Motion and light activated with a timer plus a dimming function (be sure to use dimmable CFLs if you plan to use a CFL). The only complaint I have is the color. Usually antique bronze is a deep brown almost black color - this is more of a deep red/rust color. Not a big deal to me, it still looks good, just not the color I was expecting.
Good for the price October 13, 2009 Chad Smith (Arnold, MD USA) Used this light to replace an identical unit that was on a home for four years with direct exposure to the sun and rain. Finish after 4 years still very good. The relay inside of the unit for the dim lighting function had failed all other functions worked fine. Since at night there was only one unit functioning on the front of the home it looked bad. So only replaced one. The other is still working fine after 4 years and the new one hopefully will work for another 4 years. It is a nice light for a good price with alot of features often found on lights that typically cost alot more.
As advertised August 9, 2009 M. Bater 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I needed 2 lights for both sides of my front entry and bought one first, just to see if it was all it's said to be. I got the second about a week later. I can't say its the sturdiest assembly I've ever seen, but then again how sturdy does a light like this need to be?
It works as advertised... I have them lit with 15 watt incandescents, on low they have a nice faint glow, barely enough to light my 30 foot long porch. When the motion sensor is activated, there's a nice amount of light to see your way, or to light up someone approaching. The motion sensor is very sensitive at the high setting, 40 feet +. Both were turned down to about mid-way, and they're now perfect for my installation.
I can't comment on long-term service as I've only had these about a month, but if you like the look, and want the function this light has (dual-bright), go for it. I've been satisfied so far.
