Product Description This carriage-style outside wall lamp offers great looks, plus the convenience of a built-in motion detector and dusk-to-dawn sensor. A handy security feature around garages and patios, the motion sensor has a 150 degree, 30 foot range. The design also comes with the Dual Brite two-level lighting feature, which brightens the light output from the light when motion is detected. It comes in an antique bronze finish with panels of beveled glass. Takes one 100 watt bulb (not included). 14 3/4" high and 6 3/4" wide, extends 8 1/2" from the wall.
Amazon.com Product Description Motion-activated lights are convenient and energy efficient, but they can be a little bulky and awkward to look at-in the driveway is fine, but you wouldn't want to put one on your porch. Unless it's one of Heath Zenith's porch lights, that is. These products give you the best of both worlds, combining motion-activation and traditional lantern design. The SL-4144 is a four-sided New-England style lantern that includes a hidden motion-sensing device. This device will detect movement in a 150-degree radius up to a distance of 30 feet. You can set the light timer to one, five, or ten minutes, and the sensor itself may be adjusted to give you more or less sensitivity (so it doesn't light up every time a car drives by). The weather-resistant antique bronze finish means it's going to look good for a while, too. This model also features "Dual Brite" lighting, which means you can use it for low-level accent lighting in addition to the full-light effect you get with motion-activation. An included timer allows you to set low-light mode for three hours, six hours, or dusk to dawn (an automatic photocell deactivates the unit in daylight). If you're looking to save a little money on outdoor lighting by installing a motion-detector, this is a great option that won't look out of place. Requires one medium-base bulb of up to 100 watts (not included).--Josh Dettweiler What's in the Box Lamp housing, motion detector

Product as Promised August 31, 2010 JShea (Phoenix, AZ) We purchased two of these lights to place on the front of our garage. The lights were easy to install and program. We've had the lights for two weeks now and couldn't be more pleased. We use 100 watt incandescent bulbs, which assure the dual-bright function works. The lights accent the front of our home until the motion sensor picks up movement. Then, the lights bump up to full wattage for 5 minutes (but you could disable this function or set it for 1 minute, if you like). We've received several compliments from our neighbors, not only for the function, but also for the design of the lights. Great purchase!
ok August 28, 2010 robsept5 *I have two) These are ok -Contractor said they were a pain to put in -but i really like the way they look and work -esp the low light at night and then switch to high when someone walks up to the door. I like that they are not brass -Brass does not do well ao close to the ocean. I was going to repaint my front door red -but now I am not sure -the bronze color is very striking -the picture doesnt show the color very well. I am enjoying the lights. Wish I could insert a picture to show you.
Very nice motion-sensing, dual brite porch light! August 25, 2010 P. McCarthy (Washington D.C.) It still looks like new after several years of exposure to the harsh Virginia elements! When set to Dusk-to-Dawn, you can leave the light switch on and forget it. The dual-brite function is a really nice touch.
IMPORTANT! As far as I can tell, this fixture doesn't work well with compact fluorescents bulbs (CFLs). Most CFLs are not dimmable, so when this fixture dims the light (restricts the electricity to the bulb), the CFL ballast goes POOF! It happened twice before I realized the reason. To get around this, I'm using a dimmable CFL, which solved the POOF problem but now the dual-brite function doesn't work (in other words, it doesn't dim). Could be the sensitivity settings are set too high; I haven't really taken the time to address it.
Motion Sensing Light July 8, 2010 Nancy Sugars I was very pleased with the Heath Zenith SL-4144-AZ-a New England Carriage Style Motion Sensing Light. I ordered two of them, one for the front door and one for the back. They work as advertised and can be adjusted to be more sensitive or less, whichever you require. They fit nicely with the style of our home and it's good to come home after dark and have them go on automatically. They also alert me when someone is approaching the house.
Excellent product April 15, 2010 Jennifer E. Glod (Beaufort, SC USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Very stylish and good quality. Easy installation when replacing another light. Good range on the motion sensor...comes on just as I pull up the drive way.
